Madame Marissa had hoped that her slave would have her back but it turned out that he was backbiting her. She did not like that especially from someone she housed and paid. She had to punish him and she did it by torturing him with hot slaps and trampling. The mistress did this to send a message to him that such behavior and actions would not be tolerated in her house.
Madame Marissa did not want to encourage theft in her house. When she lost her jewelry, she knew it must have been her slave who stole. She did not wait for a confession but she beat it out of him. The pain he felt was enough to make him learn how to do it faster.

So she waited till he came home and she used her smelly sneakers and other means to torture him. She did it until he sobered up then told him she would do so until he stopped being a drunkard.
